Mt. Carmel is a welcoming and inclusive come-as-you-are spiritual community that gathers in southwest Portland, Oregon.

We are a part of the Oregon Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States, with nearly 3.3 million members in more than 8,900 worshiping communities across the 50 states and in the Caribbean region. As a g-local community, we are also members of the Lutheran World Federation, a global communion of 148 churches in the Lutheran tradition, representing over 75.5 million Christians in 99 countries.
A Reconciling in Christ Congregation, Mt. Carmel is open and affirming of LGBTQ2IA+ folks and families, and explicitly welcomes people of all ages, races, ethnicities, abilities, classes, genders, sexualities, relationship configurations and ways of doing life.

We recognize Jesus' welcoming love for all and affirm that every child of God is embraced within our community. We welcome all to share in the life, liturgy, and leadership of our congregation. We hope to proclaim and live out together a Christian faith that repairs and renews our hearts and our world!
Come and join us for worship on Sunday at 10 AM, then stay for a cup of coffee and casual fellowship with an eclectic, compassionate group of folks who genuinely desire to be in community. No pressure, if you want to pray and run, we truly understand.
If giving church a try on Sunday feels a bit intimidating and you want to meet a small group first, you are welcome to stop by for our online Wednesday night bible study at 7 PM. We trust the Spirit will call you to the right place, at the right moment, for the right purpose, wherever your journey takes you.

We so look forward to meeting you!
